Post Thanksgiving, it is shocking by how much fear is being put out there about post Holiday food guilt over the last few days. Instagram is flooded with post about “burning off those Turkey calories” or “detox week” etc. This is just fear mongering, wrong and creates unnecessary stress and anxiety. That stress and anxiety is worse for your health than that piece (or 2) of pecan pie.
Does ONE day make a difference to your health? Absolutely not!!! It is your diet as a whole, which counts. Not one day. Stop stressing about it! You had 2 or 3 serves of pie. Who cares? Do you eat every day 2 or 3 serves of pie? No, right? So just move on. Be grateful that you have the privilege to enjoy food with your loved ones. There is absolutely nothing wrong with cooking and sharing food with your family and friends. This is what we humans have done for centauries. We celebrated with food and spent time around the dining table. How can this suddenly be wrong? So stop worrying about your Thanksgiving food. Be grateful that you were able to eat great food and created memories. Because this is what counts.
